An Enterprise Identiprise Suite Deployment

Every installation of Identiprise Suite must include a master Identiprise Server, which performs the same functions for an Identiprise deployment that a Domain Controller does for a Windows Network. This server contains the writeable copy of Virtual Directory.

This instance of Identiprise Server fulfills the function of continually backing up and tracking identities and transactions.

In this role, Identiprise Server maintains its own copy of the directory namespace, thus keeping the writeable copy of Virtual Directory local to the specified DNS domain. Identiprise Servers in the Organization role do not propagate information to other portions of the namespace; and these servers host a localized delegated administration infrastructure for ease in deployment.

Identiprise Servers playing this role act as a proxy for all incoming TCP-based connection requests. Depending on your configuration decisions, authentication and authorization may be handled by this server or passed along to another Identiprise Server.

The Identiprise Suite comes with a customizable Web interface that allows you to pass administration rights to the managers already responsible for granting access to applications in your organization.

The Identi-Soap Web Service contains three Web Services designed to let you extend the Identiprise Suite to integrate your applications with those of your trusted partners. You can do this by developing Web Services based on SOAP and the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML).

Large, distributed networks may have one or more Organization Identiprise Servers. You may want to use Identiprise Server as a gateway if client/servers using a TCP-based connection need to be protected.
